COMPOST COLLECTION ON HOLD
Due to changes in the landscape of waste here in the Bay of Plenty, we are unable to offer the compost collection service. If anyone has any leads on a site where Why Waste can set up a composting facility specifically for local business and event waste please email email@example.com
Consider our Worm Farm Hire Service as a way of processing your organic waste which goes ‘beyond sustainability’ and contributes to circular economics.
WHAT DO WE COLLECT?
Almost anything natural can go into the Why Waste bin: food scraps, coffee grinds, paper towels, leftovers, wooden skewers, garden waste and even biodegradable packaging. Pretty much whatever you would put into your compost bin at home.
HOW IS THE WASTE COLLECTED?
By having a Why Waste bin, contributors are able to separate their organic waste easily and cleanly. This bin is swapped out for a new one as many times as your business requires – usually once or twice a week. Why Waste bins can be kept anywhere without smelling or attracting pests – even in the kitchen.
WHERE DOES IT GO?
The organic waste is taken to Revital Fertilisers for BioGrow certified windrow composting, which then goes to local food producers as fertile compost.

Market trends indicate that many people are making consumer choices because of social factors not just quality and price. This expands market interest and is proven to increase customer loyalty. Designing your business to have less impact on the environment improves brand perception and often saves money in the long run.
We want to help you communicate to your customers that you’re contributing to positive change. We do this by using your business as an example of people who care using social media and our website. We also provide you with a one of a kind sticker made by a local designer that will make you and your customers proud to be part of Why Waste.
