ICT Project Manager – Systems & Sustainability
Position Summary
Why Waste Limited is pioneering regenerative solutions in waste minimisation and clean event services in energy and waste. We are seeking a Information Communication and Technology Project Manager to lead the delivery and integration of digital systems across three key operational wings: Our nationwide Worm Farm subscription, Zero-Waste for Events, and Solar Powered Electricity for Events. By joining the team, you will be contributing to a shift towards less waste, healthy soil and more resilient communities.
This role will lead projects that directly improve operational efficiency, customer experience, environmental impact, and business scalability.

Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Salary:
NZD $140,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities
Digital Systems Project Management
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of digital transformation projects across Why Waste’s operations.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful implementation of multilayered projects.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
Operational Process Optimization
Analyze and improve current workflows across waste services, worm farm logistics, and solar event delivery.
Implement route optimization software to enhance logistics and reduce environmental impact.
Manage and improve our field operations and CRM platform (Jobber) with the aim of arriving at the best possible technology stack to support dispatching, service tracking, and customer management.
Introduce QR-code service validation systems to improve accountability and reporting.
Systems Integration and Development
Oversee the development of dashboards using platforms like Microsoft Power BI or Airtable for:
Monitoring worm farm conditions (e.g., temperature, moisture levels from IoT sensors).
Tracking live solar trailer performance and energy consumption during events.
Lead the design and integration of a future CRM platform to replace Jobber, supporting business growth and assisting our finance lead with Xero integration.
Coordinate the deployment of energy management software for solar assets, providing clients with live event data and post-event impact reporting.
Customer Experience and Retention
Oversee the development of digital onboarding workflows for new customers, reducing manual processes.
Lead the implementation of automated customer support systems, including service request management and feedback loops.
Develop analytics-driven customer loyalty and retention programs.
Reporting and Impact Measurement
Deliver automated reporting tools that:
Quantify landfill diversion through composting.
Measure methane and carbon offsets for customers.
Provide monthly performance summaries for worm farm and solar clients.
Ensure internal compliance and maintenance reporting meets regulatory standards.
Sales, Marketing, and Outreach Support
Coordinate the creation, deployment, and monitoring of digital advertisements.
Support marketing tool integration with CRM systems to track campaign performance.
Collaborate with outreach and sales teams to align technical systems with public engagement.
Collaboration and Advisory
Facilitate cross-departmental workshops to identify system improvement opportunities.
Advise the Director on technology strategy, supporting Why Waste’s vision for regenerative impact and innovation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in ICT project management, systems delivery, or digital transformation.
Strong background in CRM systems, IoT integrations, and cloud-based platforms.
Practical experience with field service management tools (Jobber or similar preferred).
Excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with digital marketing platforms and campaign analytics is an advantage.
